SAMPLE Workshops
Yucatecan Cuisine
Mexican is high on my list of favorite cuisines, actually it may be right there at the top! Growing up in Rhode Island we didn't have exposure to authentic Mexican cuisine. After moving to San Diego I soon discovered what I had been missing! Welcome to the cuisines of Mexico. In this class we will review the basics of Mexican cookery while focusing on recipes from the Yucatan region. A highlight of this class is making corn tortillas at home, which is much less intimidating once you try it!
Sample Menu
Mexico - north and north pacific coastal Regions
In this workshop we'll explore some classic dishes from the Northern regions of Mexico. Here, where wheat is grown, there is said to be over 40 types of flour tortillas! While we won't make 40 we will show you how easy it is to make tortillas at home, fair warning, you may never go back to grocery store tortillas again!
Introduction to Water Bath canning
Gather a few friends to learn about this fun way to preserve the bounty of the season. In this four hour workshop we'll discuss the basics of water bath canning safety, equipment, and preparation. The fruits of your labor make wonderful gifts!
